How?

Forget the polls, the issues, the campaign spin points, just answer me this:

If Barack Obama is able to defeat Hillary Clinton, who until recently was the most popular figure in her political party (and some have predicted will defeat handily) then how can John McCain strategize victory against him given that McCain is one of the least popular figures in his?

Damn good one!
Elections are won on the ground, and if you spend any time skulking over on Daily Kos, you know that they have a lot of certifiable Obamaniacs. There is exactly no enthusiasm for Juan mcCon in my precinct (which is 70%+ Republican). Out of nearly four dozen caucus-goers, not one cast a ballot for mcCon. Not one!!!

I wouldn't even drive to the polls to vote for John mcCon. Aside from his having a brain transplant, a sudden stroke, or falling off a horse on the way to Damascus, he doesn't have a chance. Immigration? His record makes Obama look like a hawk. Economics? He makes Britney Spears look like an expert. His fitness to answer the red telephone? "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran!"

While I'd walk the precinct for Ron Paul, there is no chance that I'd bother for anyone else in this campaign.

Only one step up from an Obamaniac if you ask me...

Easy ...
Because no Democrat would ever vote for McCain over Obama but every Conservative would still hold his nose and vote for McCain over Obama ...

Hillary was NEVER actually popular nationally ...

The answer is...
McCain can't win. He's been poking a stick in his own base's eye for too long and in too many ways.

Every Conservative will hold his nose?
Not this one. I hope McCain crashes and burns.

Conservatives have already lost
McCain? Obama? Clinton? These are all equally losing propositions for conservatives. We conservatives lost this race when McCain played his dirty tricks in FL and WV.

The GOP maneuvered this loser into the nominee position and thought that conservatives would just "fall in line." Well not this time. We've been taken for granted too long - meanwhile the GOP continues to drift more and more to the left. Well they crossed the line when they tried to force McCain down our throats just as McCain tried to force amnesty down our throats. Im voting 3rd party this year!

We conservatives need to find a real conservative alternative and then ban together and vote for this person as a block to send a loud, clear, and strong message to the GOP!

If they think they can win general elections without us, so be it! If Obama wins, he wins.

The Answer Is He Can't
.

Unless he can get 100% of the illegal alien vote! Go McAmnesty!

I disagree that we lost because of anything McCain did. He ain't that smart. We lost when the media picked our candidate for us and the dumba**es in the GOP went along with it.

The one other thing that killed us.... the way the GOP allows the primaries to be waged. If the GOP really wanted conservative candidates they would do something about how the primaries are set up. It's their refusal to change the system that tells me they don't want conservatives in their party. Now they can get what they wanted. After I write-in my vote in Nov I will be quitting the GOP after being a 30 year member. Screw em'.
