2pm:Our own favorite
MuscleHead historian
David Barton of Wallbuilders will join us for a most unusual hour to kick of things today - tracing the origins of the American Labor Day holiday. Where did it come from? How has it changed?
Why was there a need to recognize the value and merit of labor? Is there any similarity to the Communist celebrations of the Day of Laborers? And perhaps most interestingly of all does the American Labor Day have distinctively Chiristian or Biblical roots? Any time David Barton is with us
you are guaranteed to learn something you did not know before - so don't miss this extra-special discussion here in hour one. 800.345.WMCA.
3pm:He is being
honored along with his broadcast Truth For Life as the WMCA-570 "Ministry of the Month." With a Scottish bogue that is instantly recognizable, and a golf game to match you may have heard a wee bit about
Alistair Begg before. He joins us on our holiday celebration today and gives us a peek behind the scenes as he has been recovering from cancer. And in these days when so much controversy swirls around the church Alistair weighs in on his own commitment to preaching the word faithfully in context. Don't miss the special conversation...
3:20pm:Robert Spencer is the author of an important new book that examines
which religious system most promotes peace - Islam or Christianity. Spencer is
the propietor of the blog JihadWatch.org and is a regular host for the Michelle Malkin video enterprise HotAir. He specializes in middle eastern history and events and is perhaps one of the most important voices on the trends of modern day Islam in existence today. There are many people saying that Islam IS a religion of peace - but are they right? Because seemingly the majority of Muslims appear peaceful does that mean Islam is? Or are they poor practitioners of their faith choosing not to live by the jihadist principles of Islam.
With stunning detail Spencer lays out the basics in his new book. And we look forward to the discussion with him in hour two today.
