He's not even in the race yet... but he leads the GOP race for President. He's not in the race yet - but the all but coronated frontrunner for the DNC can only tie him at best. And for all the nay-sayers... don't put too much stock in the state polls that Romney is spiking right now. (He's the only one spending money on TV at present... THAT will change. And when it does it is likely that when all the messages are side by side Romney will poll similarly in the state polls to what his national numbers reflect. Add to that the woeful GOP lack of funds and its clear he need more than money to win.)

All of which are excellent reasons why... it's good to be FRED.

Question: Has he officially picked up the mysterious, "because he can win..." word of mouth that catapulted W. to the top in 2000?

I admit it was extremely circular reasoning but it seems like Fred is the only candidate that is in fact spreading in popularity based on word of mouth. Plus that old fashioned Reagenesque idea of "speaking directly to the people." (Which he does here on TownHall, far more often, and far more consistently than ANY other candidate running.

FRED IS THE GLOBALIST PINCH HITTER
if all goes wrong.........Which it has!(Ha-Ha)Fred has a Senate voting record that would scare any conservative that does not support amnesty.(BETTERIMMIGRATION.COM)......Because nothing scares the GLOBALIST more than the idea of a true CONSERVATIVE that listens to the voter getting in office!......That is the very reason that HUNTER/TANCREDO/HUCKABEE have NO big money doners!(OPENSECRETS.COM).......Globalist don't need a President, they need another actor to farther the wealth of the top 1% in America that now controls more of the money than the lower 90%!(FUEDALISM...ALIAS AMERICAN CAPITALISM).....The end goal is a corporate world, and GWB has been shut down,(NEVER HAVING A TRUE CONSERVATIVE BONE IN HIS BODY)...........And the middleclass has now started to realize that NOBODY is looking after their intrests in the World!.......And nobody will, untill the GOP can purge the party of GLOBALIST!

4th of july announcement?
I thought Fred would announce his candidacy on the 4th of July. I wish he would hurry up and do so. If he decided not to run for president, that is going to be one of the biggest disappointments this year.

A few problems....
And how does the knight in shining armor answer questions about the clients he served during his lobbyist days? Including the tobacco industry the S&L buyout and Haiti's great torturer Aristide:

The pick-up truck is a phoney, too:

Even "Dr." Dobson has his doubts if Fred is Christian enough:

It's not Fred we're worried about...
No doubt Fred Thompson would be formidable, but my sources are anticipating Mitt Romney to win the GOP nomination! I've been told the DNC is so worried of Romney that they've already begun working on these two commercials for 2008, just in case Mitt is the Republican candidate:

Poll
Fred is not a conservative. However, he plays one on TV.

On the poll. There was a previous poll that had Romney beating Hillary and Fred losing. The polls bounce around. Both Fred and Romney are within the margin of sampling error against Hillary. There is no statistical difference. Besides there are a lot of other polls that show Fred losing to Hillary rather badly. It is all in the sampling (and other factors that skew results).

However, if you wanted to ignore that fact, you could interpret the poll to mean that Hillary is disliked by so many people that just about any Republican can run against her and win. Neither Thompson or Romney are well enough known for voters to really know if they like them better than Hillary. What they do know is that they don't like Hillary.

Answers
As long as Fred is answering questions. How many R rated movies did he appear in (several)?

I raise that mainly because the press is tauting a couple of Fredheads bashing Romney for being on the Marriott board. Marriott like most publicly traded hotels offers a variety of films not to mention that they have a bar.

More bad news.....
Even more gilding is off the lily:

"In fact, on July 29, 1993, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported that Thompson, then running for a Tennessee U.S. Senate seat, said during an interview that he "supports the Supreme Court's Roe vs. Wade decision that established a constitutional right to abortion." In an October 21, 1994, article, The Washington Post similarly reported that "both" Thompson and his Democratic opponent in the 1994 Senate race, then-Rep. Jim Cooper, "believe in legal abortion."

So.... the GOP can't go with Fred, cant' go with Romney (Mormon!), can't go with Giuliani (Wives! Drag!). Who do they have????
