If what Hugh is offended by is Sharpton's challenging of the sincerety of Romney's belief... then he is right.

If Hugh is offended at the calling of the Mormon diety the REAL God... then he is mistaken.

Mormons sincerely believe that they worship a true god. But they do not worship the Creator God of the Biblical Text. They do not worship the risen son Jesus Christ. I know that they believe that they do - but they do not.

An illegitimate substitute for something is not the original authentic.

No one should be able to question the sincerety of Romney's beliefs - unless Romney himself does not live up to them. EVERYONE has the right to express their opinion on the authenticity of the Diety that is the focus of such. And saying so does NOT make one a bigot...

The "real believers of God"
What is perhaps the most offensive about Sharpton's comment is that he seemingly pretends to know who the real believers in God are and how they vote.

So, do you think Al believes that the "real believers" are pro-life or pro-choice? Do Al's "real believers" vote for or against affirmative action? Do Al's "real believers" care more about hate crimes legislation or islamofascism?

This odiousness of this comment goes well beyond your personal view of Mormonism, Kevin.

All Knowing
It never ceases to amaze me how many people not of my faith are experts on my faith. I'm a convert of 31 years, college-educated and know who I pray to and worship. Thanks anyway, Kevin
