The difference between Obama and McCain in the debates last night is the same difference you would experience if you were going to get your car fixed...Who would you choose? The man who has memorized the manual and can tell you what page 83 says? Or the man who has gotten in up to his elbows in cars, fixing, repairing, and target shooting problems?
Obama sounded like a college student giving canned answers straight out of a Democratic playbook. He attempted to appeal to the "average voter" by promising all sorts of freebies and government programs and telling us how much he cares about us and how early childhood education (aka government funded daycare) will be one program that wil not be eliminated because of the economic crisis.
He looked angry, he was not conversational, and he couldn't remember McCain's name and instead called him "Tom" and "Joe." He was befuddled and generic in his answers to questions.
His responses had a terseness that comes from being a media darling and not having his positions questioned publicly. His lame attempts at pretending to be a powerful, well-respected authority in Washington also failed. Our little first term senator bragged about how he "stood up against the Iraq war six years ago" only to have his audience do the mental math and realize he was sitting in Illinois 6 years ago and did not make it to DC (where he is still a freshman without a voice) until
January 4, 2005. He looked shallow and one-dimensional next to John McCain. McCain showed a deep love for his country that compells him to serve our country. Obama has a nuetral attitude towards our country and it's people and is much more excited by his own government program pipe dreams.
Overall, it just depends on who you want in office...the manual or the mechanic?
