big night for the big voice...

Dial Idol reported last night that for the first time in many, many weeks Syesha Mercado ended up not just staying safe - but recorded the most number of telephone votes of anyone from the night.

I told the Lovely Bride last week that Carly and Syesha being the two biggest voices left in the competition were - possibly - canceling each other out. With Carly gone and Brooke not much like Syesha in any way perhaps she has found a path to the top three.

As for the Lovely Bride's favorite - sweet Brooke - Dial Idol had she and Jason Castro more less tied for phone activity... for last place. That means it would come down to the text votes to determine the difference... I have to believe that edge goes to Castro and the 13 year old girls who are all ga-ga over the girly boy.

Which is too bad - because Brooke is five times more talented than Castro.

Brooke and Jason are likely in the bottom two tonight... and as much as I hate to say it - Brooke may be headed home.

Hey Kevin,
Thanks for the Idol update! I specifically did NOT watch the show this week...especially with Carly gone, but I am glad that Syesha is still there. As for Jason...the guy who cannot hit many notes and can only sing in that breathy, shallow, soft voice? He should have been gone long ago. As for David A? Did he look any less like a deer in the headlights this week? Did he sing anything different than a ballad (which is all he has done since being on the show.)
Even if I am not watching the show, I am rooting for Syesha or the other David to be the winner. At least those two can sing. As for those
"millions" of votes FOX swears pour in week after week...when I stopped watching two weeks ago I noticed that there was NEVER a busy signal for any of the contestants in ALL the weeks I had been voting. Hmmm...makes one wonder. I was happy to tell Fox that in the email I sent them to tell them I would no longer watch this farce of a show (I had missed several seasons on purpose before this latest one and found I did not really miss anything.) The last really good season was the one Carrie Underwood won.

Idol
Thank you for your idol updates. I used to be a huge AI fan until the season where the judges pushed Fantasia down our throats. It made me sick to watch them do everything but declare her the winner before anyone got to vote. Now where is she? Hmmmm... Except for Carrie Underwood who I love and maybe Kelly Clarkson, the most successful people have been those who lost. My favorite out of the whole bunch is Chris Daughtry. Everytime I hear him sing, it makes me think of your radio show which I miss tremendously. I hope things are going well.
