Palin and Biden Debate

I think we were missing some important facts in last night's discussion of the economy. Why didn't we hear that Franklin Raines, appointed by the the Clinton administration to run Fannie Mae (and retired with $100 million in bonuses) has advised Barack Obama? Why didn't we hear that Fannie Mae gave millions of dollars to Democrats...and who was in the top two candidates who received donations? Sen. Barack Obama. Why didn't we hear about the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act "that requires bank and savings and loan associations to offer credit throughout their entire market area" which basically means that for the past 35 years, banks have been required to give loans to people who they knew (from day one) could never repay the loans?

My final comment on last night's debate is that I don't think it's right that the mainstream media continues to overlook Biden's only statement that: 'I think he [Obama] can be ready but right now, I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training" and I think most of the questions were too big and too vague to be answered in 90 seconds..."What campaign promises do you not intend to keep?" "What is your real weakness?" "What are the causes of global warming?" Come on, Gwen.

And apparently only one network thought it was newsworthy that the moderator is writing a book about Obama and wrote an article entitled "O Come Let Us Adore Him [Obama]".

Sarah's night
Palin did great. She did not, however, help John McCain this year. She is obviously the front-runner for the GOP nomination in 2012.

ONE exchange mattered to me: That pesky old Constitution clearly states what the duties of the VP are.

Dick Cheney has urinated all over that, and the Bill or Rights. For Palin to say that she would continue in Cheney's way should terrify anyone who loves our country.

But, take heart, Republicans: most of my fellow Americans are -- quite frankly -- too dumb to read and/or understand the Constitution. So, it is probably way over most voter's heads.

Looser
The only looser last night was Mike Huckabee.

After her amazing performance on the debate, there is little question that Palin will be the GOP nominee in 2012.
