After receiving his party's nomination by a special act of affirmative action earlier in the day, Barack Obama popped on to stage to squeals of the long suffering conventioners that were nearly ready to poke their eyes out from the boredom of Joe Biden's acceptance speech!

If Biden is supposed to bolster the ticket - expect yet another dip in the overnight tracking polls tomorrow. And not only was Biden boring he took on the role of attack dog pathetically...

Biden ran down a list of Obama's "legislative record" which afterwards - even left-leaning Nina Easton admitted, "this makes Obama's thin record" look even worse."

Then Biden went beyond the pale in repeated questioning of John McCain's judgment. I have questioned McCain's methods, and his temper, but I've never questioned his desire to see what was best for America be at the fore of his rationale for the "why" he did what he did.

I think it is a tremendously overplayed mistake for Biden to "go there." And that fundamentally it shows a desperation of a ticket that by all mathematical equations should be light-years ahead in this race, but is actually struggling to stay even.

Disagreement with McCain's ideas should be how they go about selling themselves. Attacking McCain's judgment and thereby his character is just a losing proposition. Especially since you can guarantee there will be massive tribute to his painful sacrifice to his nation in the GOP meetings coming up next week.

Clinton was the toughest nugget of the night, unfortunately for Obama he did not appear in the 10pm hour which was carried by the networks.

Instead we got a national helping of the Senator so boring I wanted to stab my hand with a fork just to prove to myself that I was still awake...

This will make you laugh too
News from the Hollywood McCain fundraiser (this will make you laugh):

Moments later, Robert Duvall and James Caan walk slowly past the front desk, their younger wives following two paces behind. The two Hollywood veterans--who starred together in The Godfather--are laughing heartily as they passed. I interrupt them to ask what they thought about McCain. Caan is surprised that McCain was so funny, Duvall is not.

Duvall, who just finished doing the voiceovers for the McCain videos that will be show next week at the Republican National Convention, points to McCain's national security experience. "He's an American hero. He's got character. He's been around." Duvall pauses. "The other guy? I just don't know."...

Duvall then picks up our conversation from where we left it before the interruption. He is incensed by comments Gore Vidal made about McCain back in June. Vidal had questioned McCain's heroism. "Who started this rumor that he was a war hero? Where does that come from, aside from himself? About his suffering in the prison war camp?"

Duvall doesn't think much of Vidal, whom he called "an American icon-slash-dilettante." It's not only John McCain who could kick Vidal's a$$.

"His 96 year-old mother could beat the crap out of Gore Vidal with her shoe," Duvall says. "And you can quote me on that."

Barakapolis, infrastructure problems?
I knew Barack had issues with our infrastructure. Especially after he said China had better infrastructure than the USA. But the rebuilding of the broncos stadium is just insulting to we the colorado people. We aks our leaders to respect our space and not rebuild it for a 1 hour speech whenever possible! What infrastructure problems was Barack talking about, the Barakapolis is STANDING STRONG and it has cost us $$$$ for a ONE HOUR speech. I think his 6th sense realizes,he won't have the whitehouse lawn so he is creating something majestic to remember his affirmative action moment.

Good natured
While it's been good natured fun to tweek Kevin's nose on his sillier comments, humor seems difficult to find with such blatant racist statments as the first sentence of this posting.

President-elect Obama won an election, Kevin. His Daddy's appointees on The Supreme Court didn't hand it it him. He won it. You don't like that, you can't accept that, but it is the simple fact.

You are, with all joking aside, a incurable racist. Stabbing yourself with the fork might actually help.

Your racism is a sad commentary on the party represented by a President who would not even deign to address the NAACP.

Goat...
When you examine the way in which Obama kept Hillary from being allowed to get her votes counted, coupled with the fact that they never even allowed her take the lead on the tally board in the convention - and then SUSPENDED the vote count (so that it didn't matter whatsoever) so that the election was determined by the voice vote - it can be fairly and accurately be said - that Obama's nomination was in fact done by affirmative action...

And its not racist to point it out...

Racist
Kevin is probably not a racist, but the "Affirmative Action" comment was a clumsy effort to bring race into it all.

Obama won, period. He ran a lean, effective campaign and he won.

There were no dirty tricks, no special treatment. He won.

Kevin and his kind will continue to try to slip in little code words and phrases like "Affirmative Action" as the election nears.

But, he's no racist. If this was Collin Powell or Condi Rice, Kevin would be falling all over himself to support them.

In the final analysis, it's ALL about politics.
