WRONG WAY BUMP! Despite Michelle Obama's best efforts last night - voters aren't buying it, not yet anyway. The Rasmussen poll - which has been the most accurate poll in the last four election cycle (due to his updated polling methods) released snapshot results from the overnights showing that Obama is not even winning his own nomination process:
Among all voters surveyed, 43% say Clinton would do better against the Republican candidate, while 41% prefer Obama, who this week is expected to become the first African-American nominated as the presidential candidate of a major political party.
And among democrat women on the issue of whether Hillary should be on the ticket: Nearly half of Democratic women (47%) say Barack Obama should have chosen Hillary Clinton for his running mate instead of Senator Joseph Biden as the former First Lady prepares to speak tonight at the Democratic National Convention. Thirty-nine percent (39%) disagree.
Scott Rasmussen was also just on FOX relaying the finding that every day since naming Biden to the ticket - Obama's poll numbers have dripped lower.

When she reduced Hillary supporters to:
"... 18,000,000 little cracks in the glass ceiling..."
"Little Cracks" ??!!?
WTF?
Anybody remember Leona Helmsley w/her 'little people' comment? |

Jennifer Rubin points out the obvious:
As I (and many others) speculated yesterday, the impact of Barack Obama’s ballistic response to a third-party ad explaining his connection to former terrorist Bill Ayers was obvious: it would make it a mainstream news story.
And sure enough, the RNC is touting a USA Today story giving many of the details of this troubling relationship...
And we are reminded that Ayers has refused to apologize for his crimes. Then for good measure (and to rile anyone who wasn’t already upset about hearing of the Ayers’ ties) we hear from Tom Hayden: “I have met and like John McCain, but he bombed, and presumably killed, many people in a war I opposed. . . If I can set all that aside, I would hope that Americans will accept that Ayers has changed, too.” Yeah, that’ll convince people–equating fighting for your country with bombing innocent fellow citizens in a restroom.

Or as the Dems like to say, it is all about choices. And while McCain is far from perfect and would be wise to take Senator DeMint's advice on things--there is a clear difference between McCain and Obama. Of course as the Dems point out, Barack was just a kid when Bill Ayers did bad things. http://marathonpundit.blogspot.com/2008/05/bill-ayers-step ping-on-us-flag-in-2001.html I mean Barack was only...uh...40 or 41 when Ayers posed for that photograph. |

that's the problem with the Obamas, they don't know how to approach issues with everyday people. She denigrates Hillary by saying a small crack in the ceiling...what ceiling was she referring to? is this another of her misquotes like "In 2008, America is downright mean" Next time, which I hope never ever happens again, all the american people Should send a message that is loud and clear...we will not take the likes of you to be our first couple. |

Mrs. Obama's success was in dispelling all the right-wing myths and rumors about her.
That was obviously her intention, and on that point, she succeeded. We've probably heard just about the last of the attacks on her.
Does it translate into votes? Probably not. |

The kids... darn cute. I would be proud to show them off too. I noticed a nervous mother watching them as if they could say something with that microphone that would make us cringe. I have kids and I know that look and feeling. Kids are not politicians, they are way too honest. Michelle... darn irritating. I don't like listening to her. In some ways her delivery and edginess remind me of Hillary. No wonder they don't like each other. |

Between "dispelling the rumors" and "pulling a complete 1950's Leave-it-to-Beaver white wash that nobody believed."
Michelle pulled the latter...
And for the 4th day in a row since selecting him Obama's national tracking numbers for both Gallup AND Rasmussen (the one he should really worry about) have gone...
wait for it...
D O W N !!!!
At his own convention!!! |

Michelle was merely using Hillary's own words when she was referring to the 18,000,000 little cracks in the glass ceiling in her very carefully scripted speech.
The real question is: Which is the real Michelle Obama -- the angry one who said "For the first time in my adult lifetime I am proud of my country..." when she did not know she could be observed by the whole nation or the one that showed up when she knew she was. One is an outsider railing at America for wholesale "change" and the other wants to convince you she only wants to tweak it a bit. You need only look at the Obama's history of associates to decide for yourself.
If Obama is elected and given a Democratic congress to fulfill his mission, this country's economy will tank. If you think speculators trading on the knowledge of the oil market caused problems, just wait until you see what happens to investment in this country if it appears that Obama will be elected. It will happen before the man is even inaugurated. Money follows value and it will leave this country. |
