 "Would you repeat the question?"
Three rounds of booing at an important Iowa event - the Heartland Forum. Twice asked if she would grant a path to citizenship for illegals in the country by a certain date within her first 100 days of taking office... Clinton's answer brought on, "BOOOOOOOOs."
If only those in attendance at Saddleback Church had been as discerning about the purpose driven drivel dripping off her lips...
And where, exactly, is Little Boy Bush's leadership on this illegal immigrants issue?
Where is immigration reform, W? Where is the fence, W? Where is control of our borders, W? Where is security at our ports and airports, W?
Among the endless list of failures of this disasterous President, immigration is near the top.
You GOPers need to find a reason for us to vote for your candidate, instead of just these little screeching warnings against the Dem.
|
|
Hillary is still singing the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" tune (all the Dems, really), not realizing it is her swan song.
The only issue I have ever seen 75-80% of Americans agree on is stopping illegal aliens. Any GOP candidate that is credible (not Rudy, McCain, or Huckabee) on this issue could win in a landslide.
The biggest problem is the RNC has sold it's soul to the cheap labor express. They are determined to nominate an amnesty candidate, even if it means losing the election. Stupid Party, indeed.

Evidence that attrition through enforcement will work, illegals are returning home from Arizona. The laws don't even take effect until January.

We the People of the United States of America have the right to have our borders and our laws respected and enforced. If we wish to keep our representative Republic, and our rule of law, we must elect a President who WILL secure the borders and enforce the laws. The actions of the next President will determine the fate of this great nation. If citizenship becomes meaningless, this will no longer be the United States of America.
The primary responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect the territorial integrity and people of this country. They have completely abdicated this responsibility. Both parties have been complicit in this. We are being told it is not possible to control our borders, enforce our laws, and thereby control our destiny as a nation. Hogwash. We are being sold out by corporations intent on importing workers for jobs that can't be exported with the taxpayers paying the true costs, financial and human. If we act like sheep and don't stop the inundation across our borders, we will lose our country without a bleat.

So, take your anti BDS pill and deal with what's important NOW... Hillary promising path to citizenship in her first 100 days in office, and why she was "Boooooooo'd!"

Rudy's Answer to Illegal Aliens Pretty much the same as Hillary and GWB. Lip service to border security and "Comprehensive Immigration Reform", amnesty. We tried that once in 1986 and Reagan thought it the worst mistake of his terms. We now have 10 times the number of illegal aliens. We will either elect a President who will uphold the laws or one who will change them to accomodate the illegal aliens. If we do the latter, we are voluntarily committing national suicide.
|
|
Did anyone see him on George Stephanopoulos this morning trying to explain himself over giving American tax dollars to illegal aliens for college scholarships? He was sweating more than Richard Nixon at a debate.
McCain was on Face the Nation and STILL does not get it. Trying the tug at the heart strings approach "they are all God's children" followed by hand wringing and a hurt puppy-dog look. What about Americans, are we not God's children too Mr. Amnesty? America has the right to be sovereign.
Hillary or any other of the Dems will destroy America's sovereignty. Trolling libby's, this is your country too, why would you want to destroy America by allowing amnesty?
|

Once the former first witch of the White House gets the Dem nomination, the Republican candidate should play a tape of this over and over. The Dems realize that they will get millions of new votes from these invaders, so they will do everything possible to legalize them. Thats why Spitzer in N.Y. tried to give them drivers licenses. I notice this new liberal news media love affair with Huckabee. They know that he is positively pathetic on this issue and know that he would be just another George W. Bush on this illegal invader issue. |
|
|
The illegals need to take that path right now. It leads back to their own country, and then to wherever they apply for the RIGHT to live in America, LEGALLY. I will gladly contribute to a fund to pay for their bus ticket to the border. |
|
|
Take note from this person who lives in a border state. If you love paying higher taxes for social services for illegals, then follow the likes of Shillery, Huckster, Jorge. And if you like pressing 1. for English and 2 for spanish then vote for these shills and their disciples. Eventually the "sheep" that feed these illegals will be devoured and wonder "what went wrong, and who do we blame?" I say , " Look in the mirror, sheep." |
|
a ga-zillion others who have said the same thing... We'll help pay for their bus tickets back to the border!
I think we have that covered. :-) Good call!
|
|
From other things I have read about this thing with Hillary, my impression it was that the audience were open-borders activists and they were booing her because she didn't sound like she was going to push amnesty aggressively enough to satisfy them.
(their concern is well founded, you will not hear a word about "comprehensive" immigration from Hillary Clinton if and when she is elected. You may not even hear anything about it during the general election campaign.)
If the open-borders types want amnesty, they should support Giuliani. Only a Republican might have a chance of passing an immigration anarchy bill, because the only way Democratic politicians will support it is if they can pin the blame on a Republican after it turns out to be a disaster. |
|
"Comprehensive" immigration reform is only an albatross for Hillary if Giuliani, Huckabee, or McCain don't get the nomination.
If one of the three stooges gets the Republican nomination, then the most powerful issue for the Republicans in 2008 is off the table.
And, in fact, many Republicans like me will not vote for one of the three stooges out of the belief that Clinton won't be able to pass amnesty legislation but one of the three stooges might.
But by 2009 it may be moot because we may be in such a deep recession by then that whoever wins the White House will know that their political career would be dead on arrival if they ever even mentioned the "C" word. |

some of her mandatory healthcare insurance & get their votes. Otherwise why would it matter much for her to push this amnesty issue? Doesn't this country have enough problems without the adding of a few million more Mexicans to the population? |
|
Perhaps you are right about Rudy, but perhaps he had a change of heart after 9-11, when because of lax immigration policies he came close to a building coming down on his head.
If he does for illegal immigrants the same thing he did for the "Squeegie Patrol" in NYC, that would be great!
Of course, living in California, where our governor ran as a conservative, and turned out to be in the pocket of his unca Teddy, I want to be cautious about someone with ambigious conservatism. |
|
|
YOU ARE AN IDIOT!! The Republican "base" has never sided with President Bush on his immigration policy. Neither have Republican Legislators. The Democrat Left does support(side with) the radical element of the Democrat Party with their amnesty and liberal immigration proposals. The Democrats have consistently voted en mass to give amnesty, social security benefits, in-state tuition, free emergency medical care, drivers license, and a host of other liberal programs in the hope of wooing the illegal immigrant vote after the Democrats grant the illegals a voting privilege. Your attempt at shifting blame for your own party's disregard for the provisions of our Constitution and abandonment of adherence to "the rule of law" is very transparent. Let me emphasize--" YOU ARE AN IDIOT". |

Take Their Job--They Will Deport Themselves. FINE and TAKE THE BUSINESS LICENSE of anyone hiring an illegal. The campaign slogan should be simply: "FINE AND TAKE". No businessman would risk his business to hire or work an illegal. |

I was watching on one of those Sunday shows, as Senator McCain tried to explain the conservative passion over the illegal alien problem.
Still playing footsie with the elites, John McCain talked about us as if from the outside. He stopped short of calling us racists, jingoists and xenophobes, but only just.
One of the things they don't get is that Boomers were all taught to wait their turn in line, to play fair, and obey the laws. We were also taught to share, and to be compassionate, which explains why we tolerated this situation until it became intolerable.
But now we are confronted with massive numbers of people who don't wait their turn, don't play fair, don't obey the laws. They break the immigration laws with impunity, steal people's identities, suck up our resourses without giving back, depress our wages, and turn large areas of town into third world countries. They set up impromptu "swap meets" all over town on Sundays, breaking city ordinances, and sell Tamales on street corners without paying either sales tax or business taxes.
The companies who hire illegals under the table and pay them very low wages are being subsidized by local economies. Because they don't pay these people enough to live on, they turn to government assistance, which WE pay for, after having our wages depressed.
I think that Senator McCain, Senator Clinton, and the rest need to come down from their ivory towers, to Los Angeles and walk around our extensive barrio, that stretches for many, many, many miles- and is still growing. |
|
I suspect that you are right.
But unfortunately, people seem to continue to break laws in spite of the fact they may be caught and punished.
I would like to add to your list of punishments.
I think that if a well-to-do foreign national hires illegal aliens, they should have their visa revoked and they should be deported as well.
I have a friend who has a store in Korea Town in Los Angeles. She only hires legal residents, but many of her customers tell her that they hire illegal aliens because they are cheaper. When ICE started cracking down on illegal hires, and they had to hire Americans, they started whining that they didn't have as much money to throw around.
Many many LEGAL immigrants are getting rich by hiring cheap illegal labor. I have no problem with people getting rich, but when they shunt the financial burden over to the taxpayers, because they don't pay their employees enough to live on, and the workers then seek out government assistance, then that is an outrage and should be dealt with.
It is also an outrage that OUR government grants the illegals assistance, and when the citizens vote to forbid them receiving bennies, the courts keep overturning it.
Los Angeles can't even afford to repair our streets, but they have the money to provide education, foodstamps, and free healthcare to people who shouldn't even be here?
This is a trend that has to be reversed. |
|
"So, take your anti BDS pill and deal with what's important NOW... Hillary promising path to citizenship in her first 100 days in office, and why she was "Boooooooo'd!"
I want to deal with both. It was Bush who helped create this mess to begin with and it was people like you who were so scared of Gore that the rest of us were cursed by the simian in the White House and his love of illegals.
You know what is funny is that I knew prior to this jerk being elected that he loved illegals because I knew his record and governor of Texas.
Pat should have been elected and then we wouldn't have the problem we have today. |
|
Regularization means amnesty. If you want amnesty for 20-30 million illegal aliens, vote for Rudy. If you do not, know that a vote for Rudy is a vote for amnesty. A vote for Rudy is a vote for SPP, he will implement it. Be prepared to once again be called nativist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant, racist bigots for wanting your government to enforce our laws. Rudy will not enforce them. He has said it is impossible to enforce them. He will not even try if elected. He intends to change them for the lawbreakers.

John McCain expressed a sentiment of the elites when he said that every time there has been a wave of immigration, there has also been anti-immigration sentiments, and gave the example of the Irish.
It is insulting to conservatives to compare us to the anti-Irish and anti-Italian feelings from a century ago.
First of all, when you visit Ellis Island, you will see exhibits that discribe the gauntlet that earlier European immigrants had to run before they got into this country.
Immigrants were held in that one small place, and checked out to make sure that they were free of disease, and capable of supporting themselves. If they did not fit the criteria, they were sent back!
There is no such set of safeguards on our large southern border, where indigent people cross without inspection, owning just the clothes on their backs, and bringing with them all manner of disease, such as TB, and vermin, such as bedbugs, headlice and roaches. Many of them are uneducated, and they bring the poor hygene typical of third world countries that has led to outbreaks of ecoli poisoning at restaurants and in produce at the stores.
They crowd into apartments meant for just one family, or even make bachelor encampments on the outskirts of neighborhoods creating a health hazard as they use the outdoors as their toilet.
Many of them have to work 2-3 jobs at the low wages they receive, and so they neglect their children, who join gangs and cover our city with graffiti. One hispanic women was murdered when she tried to stop neglected kids from "tagging" her neighborhood.
Another problem is the gangs who shake down the illegal vendors for money. One man refused to pay, and the thug shot at him, missing and killing an infant in his mother's arms.
This situation is intollerable, and people like McCain and Shrillary should know better. |

You show wisdom but this problem precedes Bush and was fostered by the Kennedy immigration bill of 1965 (date may be off a little). You can look it up and read some of its provisions. Essentially, it increased Latin-American immigration numbers at the expense of European numbers. Word of mouth spread throughout Latin and South America about job opportunities, ease of entry due to poor immigration enforcement, employers hiring of illegals, and better opportunity for families. Reagan tried to put out the fire by throwing gasoline on it in the 80s through his amnesty program and we slipped into immigration anarchy. The Democrats loved it and supported it; they saw a chance to increase their base of Socialist voters--the Democrats went berserk with power greed. Hillary shows that greed exceeds all sovereignty concerns. Power, power, power for Socialism is all the Radical Left (George Soros, moveon.org crowd) of the Democrat Party embraces. The Democrats are in bed with the Marxist-that is as plain as it can be stated. |

I guess you are right. I like Rudy for many reasons, but the illegal thing, and his uncertain stand on abortion are cause for pause.
I don't think that he is a Trojan Horse, and I like that he stands up to the Lefties, but I worry what his policies will be down the road, and what kind of judges he will appoint.
Arnold Schwartzenegger acted like he was going to govern as a moderate conservative in some areas, and as a strong conservative in others.
However, he has turned out to be worse than a disappointment as the governor of California, and because of him, I am getting more and more reluctant to vote for someone like him.
If Rudy is talking about "regularizing" illegals, he is not for me.
The only acceptable position is to enforce the law. Seal the borders, and deport the illegals you find during the normal law enforcement activity.
I am tired of the argument that "we can't deport 'em all!"
Of course we can't!
We can't catch every car thief, burglar, murderer, tax evader, child molester, freeway speeder or graffiti artist either. Should we then decriminalize these activities as well?
Heck, why have any laws at all? |
|
|
The Democrats have an unblemished record of support for Mexican, Central, and South American immigration , legal and illegal for more than 45 years. The Democrats do not care one whit for Mexicans or any other Hispanic--they care only about expanding Socialism/Communism and they need those poor Hispanics that come here predisposed as Socialist from Socialist Central and South America. Hillary wants power and she will do any thing to get it, to include staying with her no good husband. Hillary despises America and our political system; she has been a Marxist since her University years. |
|
This is a deliberately deceptive term.
It is a way to hide what the Democrat(ick)s are really up to: open borders.
Heck, the Demsters would be overjoyed if we just let the entire Southern Hemisphere vote for the American President.
And getting back to Arnold Schwartzenegger, that Trojan Horse, who has been working to change the Constitution of the United States so that he could be elected President.
Now just imagine if the Left succeeds in making the way clear for all of Latin America to vote in our elections AND Arnold succeeds in making the way clear for people born outside the US to become President.
Could we end up with Hugo Chavez as President? Vicente Fox? George Flippin' Soros?
If you take each Leftie issue by itself, they aren't so bad, but when you piece together all the issues they are pushing, you can see the big picture, and their scary vision for the future.
Be afraid. Be very afraid. |
|
.... and "Christian" is right.
Unless you GOPers can convince the electorate that the past almost-eight years never happened (and that six of those almost-eight were in the total control of YOUR party!), then the next GOP nominee has got to figure out a way to explain Bush's failures.
Way to go, Christian! |
|
|
Please do not mistake me on this. I am looking upon this in the short term since. I have not forgotten Kennedy's role in this, nor Cellar's in creating this mess. That pie of filth is big enough for big shares of all who had a hand in this. |
