Dr. Wright's hits just kept on coming Sunday night...

If you missed my syndicated piece that took on the pablum Dr. Wright put forward in his softball visit with Bill Moyers take a look at this: Dr. Wright: Choosing Hate over Hope.

But his keynote speech to the NAACP last night continued the crass, generalized prejudiced stereotype racism that Dr. Wright so obviously lives.

Just some of the highlights:

Comparing "African American children and European American children is like comparing apples and rocks."

European American children are left brained... meaning cognitive in learning style - meaning they are analytical and logical, and learn from object lessons.

African American children are right brained... meaning creative in learning style and they learn from people...

I can't even begin to describe the amount of useless silliness besides lack of medical or scientific proof that such a theory holds. Is Dr. Wright arguing that the ethnicity and color of a child's skin determines whether they are creative or not? Is he arguing that there are few Blacks who can make a logical argument? Does he also hold the theory that blacks have an extra muscle in their foot that makes them run faster or jump higher?

And don't even get me started on his explanation about why the kids in his "desegregated classrooms" couldn't stand still behind a desk and couldn't help themselves from swinging from the chandeliers are "gettin' all up" on the desks and the like...

I'm sorry Dr. Wright, lack of self control - no matter what age doesn't add up to just needing to be taught in a different "learning style..."

How do I know?

Because I'm whitey white, father to a son who is about 12 shades darker than Dr. Wright, and while my son is nearly the perfect model of social propriety in places like classrooms, I on the other hand constantly got in trouble for talking when I shouldn't, fidgeting at all hours day and night... etc.

I also ended up being what could easily be classified as a "creative learning style learner" - music by intuition, sports by imitation, and I have to admit - I didn't much care for the books.

So - I must be - according to the stunning intellect of Dr. Jeremiah Wright - a black child!

News flash, Kevin!
Dr. Wright isn't running for office!

(That is, not anymore than Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, James Hagee, Bob Jones or any of the evangelicals were when W was running.)

So what Eileen...
Does this blog ever claim to only cover "presidential candidates"?

Why don't you tell CNN, CSPAN, FOX, MSNBC, and the broadcast nets to stop covering him too?

Eileen
Eileen is a typical liberal--enough said.

Again....
As usual, when Kevin (and Jamie, in this case) is faced with cold undeniable facts they spin the coversation in other directions.

The point remains correct: you have no problem with your kind of ministers saying just about anything and backing Presidents (or candidates). But when other ministers say and do things that don't fit your political agenda, you cry "foul".

Now, spin that!

Eileen
First of all, Eileen, I cannot think of a "kind" of minister that comes close to "Reverend" Wright. You are probably referring to Hagee backing McCain. That is one that liberals have tried to use, but that is comparing apples to oranges. McCain did not attend Hagee's church for 20 years or refer to him as his spiritual mentor. Secondly, Eileen, as far as "spin" is concerned, I get dizzy just reading your posts.

Eileen, Wright is Obama's Mentor
get it? So if he is not running for office, he has a higher responsibility which is mentoring the man who is running for office. That is how intelligent people connect the dot. FYI - please read Obama's remarks about Wright - he has now admitted that Wright is a 'political problem'. This is a far cry from last weeks debate in PA when he referred to questions about wright as 'a distraction' from real issues. Americans think a president's judgement can be extended to his mentors, pastors, associates and wife. When Obama's list is completed, it creates a 'damning' picture of a man who keeps bad company and married a woman who lacks pride of country - not a good fit with First Lady Position.

Eileen, ssh Wright is talking
and americans are listening. Can you hear that? It's Obama's candidacy going up in flames, thanks to 'uncle' Wright. Ooops! but like Obama noted, we can't pick our family and Obama forgot to say..... but americans can pick a president.

Local or National Politics
Wright forgot that the 'half-truths, lies and ignorant views/research' he quotes to his ignorant local audience was unsuitable for a national audience. Did Wright really believe that he could convince americans HIV was created by whites in govt. to kill blacks? Did he also believe he could quote some sorry-research article to argue that race influences how people learn? Now we can all sleep easy at night knowing we have solved the ADHD and ADD problems facing kids in the classroom and that if we all rise up to Wright's theology of 'equal but seperate' then USA will be a great nation. Wait - we tried that in South Africa and in the USA before the civil rights movement and we found out that 'equal but seperate' works only for those who, like Wright, want to exploit people's ignorance so that they can afford to live in $1.6M dollar homes in a gated community to keep away their flock who are deemed to be unfit to live there....mmmmm....Wright can't honestly think his community is gated to keep out whites? So by living there, isn't he being racist against blacks? Just sayin..........read between the lines with your 'right brain' irreverend Wright!

Distractions....
... All this Rev. Wright talk is carefully orchestrated to keep us from talking about REAL issues that affect our daily lives: the war, the war, the war.... the increase of Al-Q terrorists in the world because of the war.... the $5,000 per SECOND that we are spending on the war......

And, PS: no one has used ministers for his own political gain like our current fratboy-in-chief. Christianity has never been so abused.
