2pm:
If a person has a moral objection to gambling, then cashing in lotto tickets from Christmas makes one a hypocrite - right? It's never happened to me before but one of my co-workers, and one of the Lovely Bride's gave us lottery tickets and scratch and wins. I am on the record opposing the expansion of state lotteries and the expansion of gambling. The Lovely Bride's scratch and wins netted $20 of winnings off of $6 of cards. If we cash these winning tickets - that we did not purchase - we become accessories in the perils that come into people's lives. 800.345.WMCA.
3pm:
A man is much more likely to commit adultery if he fears no consequences. Fox Broadcast has a new game show hitting the airwaves first part of 2008. The promo ran in the middle of the football games yesterday. Contestants hooked up to lie detector machines, and the question was: "Would you cheat on your spouse if it were guaranteed there would be no chance of getting caught?" Every man in America would have to do one of two things: "say yes" or "say no and risk a spike on the falsehood meter." Bonus question: "Should a healthy, self respecting person play these game shows?" Hey here's an idea, feature two special episodes guesting the primary candidates of the individual political parties! 800.345.WMCA.

Boy, you have a real moral dilemma there. Why don't you go on and cash it and throw the proceeds into the collection plate and be done with it? Otherwise, the state will keep the money.
It's the last day of the year and I can't believe you will close it out without taking one more cheap shot at Ron Paul. Medved is counting on you. |

I'm against lotteries but I still benefit from the programs they suposedly go to. I guess I'm not all that against them I just don't choose to participate. If I got tickets that were winners? Oh, heck I'd probably take the money and run. I'm such a hypocrite! But its true and the more money the harder to resist. |

you are a moral one aswel |

If you are truly bothered by the thought that your gist was obtained immorally, why not just return them to the giver with an explanation of your feelings.
Then, they can go cash in the tickets and buy you something nice with the money. Won't that make you feel better?
Silly. |

Here's another idea for that lotto ticket. You can cash the ticket and give it to the Disabled Veterans of America.
Just think, while you would not only partially be undoing some of the damage you have caused to your fellow citizens by advocating war against people that had nothing to do with 9/11, at the same time you can also stand in front of the mirror and say to yourself "I'm a good person."
Of course you could give the money to Ron Paul 2008 to help insure the ranks of Disabled Veterans of America aren't increased due to things that are none of our concern.

... to say that one would be a "hypocrite" for cashing in a gift, and it is an absolute leap to consider one an "accessory" to "peril" by doing so, even if one is "on record" as being against state lotteries. |
