Exploratory Committee... will announce for President on February 11, 2007.
Summary:
1. He's thought about it...
2. Didn't expect it... "Struck by the hunger for a 'different type of politics"
3. Country is in a precarious place... health care, pensions, college for kids, oil dependence, and we're "mired in" Iraq.
4. It's not the magnitude of our problems, it's the smallness of our politics...
5. Politics is bitter and partisan - gummed up by (bad/evil) money and even (more bad/evil) influence...
6. Change our politics, come together...
7. Meaningful change always takes place at the grassroots...
8. I have great FAITH and HOPE about the future - because I believe in YOU...
9. Listening and Learning more...
10. The role a presidential campaign might play in bringing America together.
I've already documented extensively how Barack Obama is uniquely positioned to shred the Democratic primaries where he will gain 95% of the African American vote. The GOP also does not have a clear consensus message much less candidate to rally around.
Obama is JFK, Bill Clinton, and Hillary all rolled into one personality... I saw him utilize his strengths to anihilate the competition in his U.S. Senate race. And I believe he is even more keenly positioned for President.
Obama is deadly. His leftist views are the furthest left of any person who has ever run for President. His speech is soft, moving, at times nearly spiritual. His oratory will destroy Hillary and expose Edwards for the empty suit that he is.
But he will do the same in the general election as well vs. the GOP. Principle is important, turnout is vital, and the GOP better be ready to wage all out war if they even hope to stay in the same ring with Obama.
