"If they want me to be the God-da-ned nominee, then I'll be the God-da-ned nominee!"

Darn Straight!
We want the Mc, bring back the Mc, we want the Mc, bring back the Mc.....(tune of we want the funk). Hey, the cranky senator is better than the phoney businessman turned "washington outsider with washington lobbysts for advisors". Who believes this stuff.

Just one more
in a long line of things you got wrong. I don't even hate to say I told you so. Really, you need a new day job. To bad the national press doesn't run the smear jobs you do on Senator McCain, it might have been a different outcome. Heck, they might have ran it if they wouldn't have gotten burnt so badly running your previous story.

Keep Hugh away from sharp objects...
Certain conservative opinion makers are not pleased.

Rush Limbaugh, Hugh Hewitt, much of the roster at the National Review and many (but certainly not all) of their more conservative talk radio and blogger colleagues are beside themselves at the prospect that one of the Republican contenders they deemed to be “not conservative” might be nominated. As Mike Huckabee won Iowa, John McCain took South Carolina and Fred Thompson bestirred himself to draft a note withdrawing from the race, the fretting has intensified. How could the voters reject their advice?

Kevin, you are not even important enough to be mentioned.

People vote for a President
Something the policy types and those very close to the action don't realize is people cast their ballot for the individual they think will best represent the nation, not for a position paper.

Mitt's problem all along is he came off as a walking, talking position paper. The "plastic" slam is a kiss of death, because first a foremost Americans want a person who they can trust as a leader.

Reagan won not because he had the "right" positions (he did), but because he was a LEADER. He could reach out and persuade people to trust him, even if they disagreed with his particular positions. Romney is the anti-Reagan, a guy with the right positions who nobody trusts.

For further proof of this, look at the women vote. McCain cleans up with this demographic, despite being the cranky, old military type, while Mitt is younger, better looking and well-spoken. Why? It comes down to trust.

It's a feeling. I can picture McCain sitting in the Oval Office, delivering an address to the American people and telling it like it is. I picture Romney on the golf course with his business associates. That's why he's the favorite to win the nomination, and probably the White House.

The Real John McCain
MY FRIENDS!

Meet John McCain – He will vote for you at MOST only 43.9% of the time.
Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 (BCRA), popularly known as McCAIN-Feingold made it a "federal crime for any corporation to broadcast, shortly before an election, any communication that names a federal candidate for elected office and is targeted to the electorate." (Such as Pro-Life) (overturned in McCain v. Wisconsin Right to Life)

Not only did it restrict Free Speech, it also worked against Pro-Life. This was in effect 30 days prior to a primary and 60 days prior to a general election.
McCain voted AGAINST the Marriage Amendment 7-14-04 and again on 6-7-6
McCain Voted AGAINST National Right to Life Issues
25% of the time in 2005-2006
18% of the time in 2003-2004 and
67% of the time in 2001-2002.

McCain Voted AGAINST Family Research Council and American Family Association issues
38% of the time in 2006
34% of the time in 2005
33% of the time in 2004
0% of the time in 2003
25% of the time in 2002
33% of the time in 2001

John McCain DID NOT VOTE on 56.1% or 249 SENATE votes during this past congressional session.

Maybe if someone had woken him up he wouldn’t have missed vote 318 HR2764 on 9-6-7. Also known as the Brownback Amendment #2707, it would have prohibited funding of organizations that support coercive abortion. Watch McCain sleeping:
