Cool!
DVD's to Heads of State, and iPod to the Queen of England filled with his own speeches, but wait he's even more chintzy with his daughter's school:

The
sordid details of President and Mrs. Dollar Store:
This past weekend was the Obamas’ first chance to participate in the Sidwell Friends School Dollars for Scholars benefit, and some families who remember the Clintons’ support are disappointed in the Obamas’ first showing. According to a source with ties to the school, the only items up for bid from the Obamas included a signed copy of the Rolling Stone issue featuring the president and a signed copy of the January Vogue that featured the first lady.
Bill Clinton donated an afternoon of golf to the highest bidder that went in the thousands when Chelsea attended the same school.
Homie's got no game when it comes to gift giving... none!

Cheap with his money, no problem spending ours. |

|
Surprised that the donation wasn't a ride on Air Force One over N.Y.C. |

...in the eye of the beholder..... |

If you seem tortured by what you find on this site...
Save yourself the trouble and stopping coming...
Seems like a much more simple answer to your twisted mental dilemma. |

So how much did the two items bring in?
Seems to me your faux outrage is somewhat misplaced if you don't have that information.
A presidential autograph could be seen as a somewhat more substantial item than a round of golf. You can't sell the golf game in later years for big bucks. A JFK signature is currently worth $2,500, Reagan about $750. A John Adams can fetch $150,000. |
|
How many items would a round of golf allow someone to autograph?
At the very minimum there would be one signature on the scorecard that for history's sake would far more valuable than a ridiculous, vanity magazine cover.
But if JFK only brings in $2500.
Clinton's golf round went for more than $200,000.
So we'd only have to wait until like another century (or two) to pass before Obama's mag cover joins the ranks of John Adams. (According to your made up numbers...)
Was this the best criticism you could come up with my simple observation that Barack Obama is as cheap with gift giving as the dollar store?
Really?
That's all you got?
Back to your live re-enactment of child porn... |
