Here's just SOME of what we're hitting this Saturday night:

1. What the flippin' heck are you smokin'?
In Hour One... Those tuning into the show over the weeks we've been on have noticed two things about Stephen Baldwin's language. It is not the colorful string of profanity it might have been before he became a born again Christian, but it also still sometimes offends. But it's my opinion that this is something that everyone struggles with. When something really hacks you off, or you're really excited, what does using euphemisms in place of profanity actually say about us?  Stephen also had his new book pulled by the biggest Christian retailer in America for not toning down one of the character's sin. Language and its relevance to life. We ask, you comment - 800.345.9622 - call us toll free in hour one.

2. Presidential pardons, keep 'em/toss 'em:

http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gen/9791/thumbs/s-GEORGE-BUSH-SIGNING-STATEMENT-large.jpg

In the month of December the outgoing President is scheduled to release a series of Presidential pardons. Convicted persons, who have penalized for breaking laws, that he has the power to--through the stroke of a pen--eradicate the remainder of their penalty. But many Americans want to know why any convicted felons should be pardoned ever. And if it is such a noble thing, it seems fishy that Presidents only seem to do it at the end of their presidential terms. And what about us. Have we ever been guilty of "pardoning" someone who was dead to rights, even guilty, but we chose to cancel the debt? How do you justify saying "not guilty?" Agree/Disagree - and if you disagree you get to go to the front of the line... 800.345.9622.

Bush Pardons?
Lawmakers from both parties have formally pressed President Bush to commute the sentences of former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, serving 11 and 12 year sentences for shooting a drug smuggler in the backside as he fled the scene. They are both political prisoners.

Scooter Libby was pardoned before he even goes to jail. John Edward Forte, a Grammy Award-winning rapper and cocaine smuggler, gets a pardon thanks to lobbying by singer Carly Simon and Orrin Hatch.

If Bush fails to act, advocates may have an ace in the hole. President-elect Barack Obama's White House chief of staff, Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., co-sponsored a resolution calling for clemency for the two former agents last December.

All charges need to be dropped as well as compensation for the unjust pain and suffering should be granted to the two Border Agents by the State of Texas, and perhaps even the federal government for allowing this to happen. I heard someone state that each of these two men will owe a million dollars in fines once they are released from prison ? A million dollars each ? from two men who were doing their jobs ? and are now being punished for it ? and have been denied the ability to work and provide for their families-OUTRAGEOUS.

Bush is reluctant to pardon them because he has a "special friendship" with the prosecutor. Bush is showing the slime without a conscious he is. Hopefully, Obama will be able to do something for these poor guys.

Outrage?
I'm a lot more concerned about these vile, disguting last-minute executive orders than about any pardons.

Our little weasel-in-chief is signing outrageous laws left and right.

Anyone care? Where is your so-called "liberal media" on these stories?

language
When I think about language, I can't help but think about 1 Cor 8. Even though I may feel the freedom to do or say something, if it offends a fellow Christian, I should not do it.
1 Cor 8:9 says:

9.Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.

I have read Stephen's book and he has a chapter in which he talks about the use of certain words like the Biblical word for donkey or the female word for dog. Now, if Stephen feels the freedom to say those things that is between him and God, but the Bible is clear that if it is offending those around him, he should not do it. Now I know that he says in his book that if you are offended that you should basically get over it because he is not ministering to you. I beg to differ. He is ministering to everyone who listens to him on BMXRadio and if the majority of his audience is offended, he should cut out the offending language. I agree with him when he says in his book that we worry about little things when people are dying and going to hell, but according to 1 Cor 8:9,we should worry about the "little" things also. Now I know that we can't go around worrying if every single decision we make might offend someone or we simply could not live our lives, but we should consider those we are in contact with the most.
Philippians 2:3 says

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Now, Stephen, like all of us born again Christians, is on the road of sanctification. We are hopefully growing more and more like Christ every day. It is obvious to me that Stephen has grown in his relationship with Christ and continues to do so. I hope he pays respect to those who are offended by his "language" and chooses more uplifting language.

Mandy, you know the truth to be true...
Sanctification is many times slower than Salvation...

If Holiness could be achieved in an instant there would be no need for discipleship!

To KMC
I think if more people took the time to get to know Stephen through his book, "The Unusual Suspect", they would see he has gone through ALOT of sanctification already. I hope my earlier post did not seem too preachy--I just have a great respect for Stephen and want to see him continue to achieve great things for the Kingom of God. I personally am not offended by his euphemisms, but I know that many people are. We all come from different places before we get saved, and although it may not seem like a person has gone through alot of sanctification, they may really have gone through much more than we realize. I am so happy that you and Stephen are doing this radio show and I love it.

I pray that neither you nor Stephen let people bring you down. Just continue serving God and he will work everything out.
