Maybe negative attacks don't work as well as they used to. Now people can go check facts on the internet in a matter of seconds.

Where is Coulter?
Who cares. Most of the TH columns are neo-con garbage, anyway. I'm shocked they still let Pat Buchanan post a column. He's about the only voice of reason left on TH.
Tadpole writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 5:58 PM
Coulter's column
is largely benign as it relates to Huckabee. Some will take a couple of lines and say the whole article is about Coulter shooting down Huckabee - which it's not.

Note: Huckabee has been first since 12/11 in the Rasmussen tracking poll. Today's national poll;

Huckabee - 21%
McCain - 15%
Romney - 15%
Guiliani - 13%
Thompson - 12%
TriciaCT writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 7:05 PM
Romney still largely unknown nationally,
so I view his holding at 15% nationally in last few weeks as positive, in view of the fact that he is TIED with McCain, who EVERYONE KNOWS.

Everyone also KNOWS Giuliani, and his trend is nothing but DOWN.

The "Huckaboom" seems to be losing a little steam as people become more aware of his actual RECORD on important things like Immigration and pardoning/commuting 1033 convicted criminals.
Spidey writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 7:22 PM
Doesn't make sense
The Republican base shut the immigration bill down last summer out of sheer outrage and now they're supporting McCain one of the main hawkers of the bill? Huck's record on immigration is pretty well known also.Yet they are at the top of the republican polls? Both these guys would allow the dreaded path to citizenship. The media's strategy of pushing Huck in Iowa and McCain in Nh seems to be paying off as they get to decide who our candidate is.At the same time the hit peices are coming out in droves against Romney. A Wash post pundit says Mitt is committing suicide by sticking up for Bush because the country hates him. That's funny comsidering he slaughtered Kerry in the last election when the war was going bad.I can understand why the staunch pro lifers are sticking with Huck because there's no where else for them to go but they're overlooking what a Huck presidency would do on a number of other levels. It would be the end of the Republican Party as we know it. Mitt or Guliani would be the best to keep it at some modicum of itself.

Trica
40% of Americans don't know Romney's religion. An overwhelming number say his religion makes no difference in their vote. You are correct Romney is still largely unknown to the corner of the eye voter that makes up the majority of voters.A ton of voters are very kneejerk depending on what they hear day to day and the media knows it.That's why they do saturations trying to brainwash people.Last year they exploited the Mark Foley scandal to put the dems in office. There's tons of single issue voters that can't be moved such as ones that want free healthcare. They don't care about anything else. They'll vote for a dem just for that alone. They could care less about what it would cost.To some getting the troops out of Iaq right away is tops and that's where Ron Paul's support comes from, well that and legalizing pot. They also believe that if we pull out of the rest of the world that will create a huge pot of money for more government freebies. There's people that want rich people to pay through the nose in taxes mostly out of simple envy. They would never see a dime of it.

If dems get control of all 3 branches of government the average person will get punished like crazy.A Global warming tax of some sort. Taxing snmall business people out of existence or making them cut jobs.No equipment orders which is a job killer. Some sort of healthcare tax to pay for expanding Medicaid to 10-20 million bums who are illegals or street thugs out breaking into cars and stealing copper wire.Trial lawyers will have lots of new opeings for lawsuits which will chase more jobs out of the country. Romney knows why jobs come and jobs go because he's been there and that's his strength. It looks like the economy will be the #1 issue by next year and the Dems will run on tax increases. Go ahead, make my day.

Oh boy
So the polls all year showing Giuliani in the lead didn't mean crap.

Good thing that's all the media talked about.

So is this the correct poll or are we going to go through this several more times before you poll sitters shut up about stupid polls?
mavtek writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 10:49 PM
What's more interesing
22% isn't shown, wonder what that 22% is?

Hi Spidey
Better hope for a big news event and soon, cuz
the media's about to come down on Mitt.

Why?

Romney's gaffe/lie about seeing his dad march with Martin Luther King.

Mitt's claimed endorsement by the NRA.

Mitt's distortions or twisting of Huckabee's record made public by "Newsweek". This may cast a bad light on Mitt over the holidays when it's hard to hit back.

And the abortion flip flop commercial that will start running this weekend.
