I'm not sure - but it sure sounds like Michelle Obama is saying that the reason African Americans aren't supporting Barack Obama thus far in the presidential race is due to White Racism.
Is that what she said?
It sounds like that's what she said?
Sure she might be couching it in "generational effects" of blacks being told they aren't good enough. But that didn't seem to stop Condoleeza Rice from speaking 6 languages fluently, becoming an accomplished concert pianist, an Olympic competitive figure skater, the Provost of Stanford University, and oh yes - the first ever black female National Security Advisor AND Secretary of State.
Isn't the story of America - regardless of the desperate situation anyone comes from - is that liberty and freedom are the keys to becoming whatever their dreams push them to become?
Maybe Mrs. Obama - should take a closer look at her husbands core values. Maybe the black communities of America - don't really believe that "born alive abortions" are all that great of a thing to protect into law. Maybe the black church community in America isn't all that keen to see marraige be redefined into whatever random sexual unions can be imagined. Maybe - just maybe - there are more African Americans who would like government to tax them less as they are moving into the middle and upper classes of the economic scale. Maybe there are numbers of African American families who would prefer tax-credit vouchers to home school or send their children to private school than to sentence them to more failures in the nation's public schools...
Maybe Mrs. Obama is the one who should "wake up" and listen to what people who aren't supporting her husband's candidacy have to say about the issues... as opposed to playing the tired, stale, "racism is everything" card - simply because BLACK voters aren't supporting her husband.
