Even by Paris Hilton standards this is a joke: Lindsay Lohan for multiple DUI's, possession of cocaine, and only the Almighty knows what else... gets... 1 day in jail.

Lindsay Lohan reached a plea deal Thursday on misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges that calls for her to spend one day in jail, serve 10 days of community service and complete a drug treatment program.

She was also placed on 36 months probation, is required to complete an 18-month alcohol education program, pay hundreds of dollars in fines and must complete a three-day county coroner program in which she'll visit a morgue and talk to victims of drunken drivers.

"It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs," Lohan said in a statement released by publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik.

She said she did things she was ashamed of. "I broke the law and today I took responsibility by pleading guilty to the charges in my case."

Sorry it takes more than pleading guilty to demonstrate you've taken responsibility... like how about - not doing it again?

Mao the deceased leader of China
once made the statement that,"In China, JUSTICE flows from the barrel of a gun, and in America JUSTICE flows from a checkbook!"............Two decades later, a friend of mine was doing his orientation with a major criminal law firm in Houston Texas. All the senior partners left the room and closed the doors with the exception of one. He then told my friend that "In spite of what your profesor of constitutional law told you about being innocent until proven guilty, the reality is that your clients are innocent until proven BROKE! And we best not find out that you are working on a broke clients case!"......It happens.

Diversion....
Stories like this are great. They provide the diversion necessary for the Bush Administration to continue to do little things like destroy the Bill of Rights and create even more terrorists in the world.

I'm sure the Bush-ies thank God every day for the endless string of bimbos, "American Idol" and all the other distractions.
