Obama is a candidate who can not be trusted! In an exclusive to the Weekly Standard former Sec. Kissinger made it clear - he was NOT pleased that Obama had lied about his position on the issue of Iran in the evening's debate:
He says: "Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality."
Lie? A Democrat?
Unbelievable. |

If you could ever drag yourselves away from Fox "News" you'd see on CNN that Kissinger sat on a panel there last week with other Sec.s of State and said it. President-elect Obama quoted Kissinger perfectly.
CNN has been replaying it all morning.
Kissinger backtracked on Cambodia, is it such a stretch to think that he'd backtrack on this comment, too? |

... I can dumb it down to Fox "News" level if you need help with the big words.
Kissinger said it. President-elect Obama was right. Deal with it:
"Kissinger: Open direct Iran talks"
http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2008/09/16/Kissinger_Open_direc t_Iran_talks/UPI-46971221579660/
WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger says the United States should begin direct negotiations with Iran over its nuclear enrichment program.
Kissinger, speaking Monday at George Washington University along with four other former U.S. State Department secretaries, said the next president should initiate high-level discussions with Iran "without conditions," ABC News reported.
The opinion of the former secretary of state for Republican presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford differs sharply with that of the current GOP administration, which has maintained a strict policy of not negotiating directly with governments deemed to sponsor international terrorism. The Bush administration has demanded that Iran dismantle its nuclear program as a precondition for any direct talks.
The other former secretaries of state, Madeleine Albright, James Baker III, Warren Christopher and Colin Powell, were asked to identify the biggest challenges the next president will face. They answered the fight against terrorism, restoring America's reputation abroad, r-building U.S. economic power and global climate change, ABC reported.

CNN actually reported Obama's error first. Kissinger actually emailed them during the broadcast very upset. Obama can not lead this country out of a paper bag much less out of the challenges facing us now. |
|
My take on the "To Talk or Not to Talk" comment is that Dr. Kissinger said we should INITIATE talks, but not engage in them at the presidential level.

Taht the talks should be at secretary of state level,so the had even an ounce of actually being helpfull and not just propaganda, but that they should NOT, I repeat ,NOT be at presidential level. And I seem to have sensed that most were in total agreement so once again a dems has heard only what he wanted to hear or has lied or "just doesnt understand" , or as I believe, ALL OF THE ABOVE. |
