"That's Governor Front Runner to YOU!"
On the morning of the Iowa caucuses, the Republicans now have their fifth “leader” of the season as Mitt Romney winds up on top for the first time ever. But, his advantage is a statistically insignificant one point and reflects the continuing lack of a GOP frontrunner. It’s Romney 18%, John McCain 17%, and Mike Huckabee at 16%. Five points off the pace are Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson at 13%.

They are really evening out! |
|
Captures the excitement of the crowd. (I expect sound any second.) Meeting Mr. Mitt looks like a lot of fun and he doesn't turn away from people but looks them in the eyes as he shakes their hand.
A gentleman and a scholar - first rate candidate for the Presidency. GO MITT! |

Please Iowa, please please please. Wake up and don't vote for Huck. Vote Romney. Vote Fred. Vote McCain. Vote Rudy. Vote Paul. Vote anybody.
Just don't vote for the buffoon. Yes, he's a nice guy. Yes, he's quick with a joke. Yes, he's a former pastor (former).
He's also an idiot. He's also corrupt (one of the top ten most corrupt politicians of 2007, and he destroyed his computer files on the way out of office to cover his tracks). He's also soft on crime (yes, those 1033 pardons were HIS). He's also going to raise your taxes (he more than doubles Arkansas'). He's also clueless on the economy. He also has Arkansas support in the SINGLE DIGITS. He also thinks that illegal immigration is a great opening for a Chuck Norris joke. He's also a scab. He's also a self-righteous hypocrite who uses his religious ties to gain political office. He also accepted millions in unreported gifts.
Huck. A nice guy. Not a good candidate. PLEASE WAKE UP!!!! |

Let me clarify what I mean by "idiot." I do not mean to denigrate the man's entire intellect - he is quite smart when it comes to people skills.
However, he has clearly demonstrated that he has an idiotic take on policy issues - as in he has no policies. Not a one.
Foreign policy: The man can't point to Pakistan on a map. Don't we already have that president? He can't get his words straight - apologize for Bhutto's death??!!
National Security. Quite honestly, has hasn't the slightest clue. Rice called his position "ludicrous." He wants to invite the jihadists over for a weenie roast while we all talk about our feelings. Meanwhile, the jihadists want to kill all of us in the most gruesomely spectacular manner possible. I don't think his idea is one of the better ones out there to deal with this problem.
Domestic policy: Uh - what domestic policy?
Illegal Immigration: He thinks it's a Chuck Norris joke. Yeah, clever ad, but we haven't heard anything since, have we? I guess that's his policy.
The economy: Well, here on the verge of a recession, let's tax and spend! Tax and spend for everyone! Since when is this a conservative value?
Crime: Release all prisoners who claim to have "come to Jesus." Uh - does he really think that criminals aren't bright enough to figure that one out? "Dear President Huckabee - I'm born again! Can I get out now?"
Please point me to one single policy issue where Huck hasn't demonstrated he's an idiot? And don't come at me with his pro-life stance. All of the GOP candidates (whether you want to believe them or not) are pro-life. Besides, abortion is not the President's call - it's the Supreme Court's, and every candidate has vowed to appoint strict constructionist judges - which is all they can do. |

In the top 10 most corrupt is Scooter Libby. Give me a break. This guy was convicted of perjury after the prosecutor knew who leaked Plame's name. It was a total witch hunt.
And all it took to get Larry Craig on the list was some shenanigans in a public restroom.
Sorry, but I'm not placing an ounce of credence to this top 10 most corrupt - reminds of Olberman...
I'm not saying Huckabee has never done anything wrong, but listing items he disclosed himself seems kind of oxymoronic.
Arkansas was the 37th most taxed state when Huckabee took office and 44th when he left. He's pledged not to raise taxes... so what the heck are you talking about?
He's a scab? What TV show did he write for?
And now he has accepted MILLIONS in unreported gifts? Mark, I think your nose is growing. |

top!!
I can see why all the respected, true conservative talk show hosts, journalists, bloggers, etc. have come down so hard on Mike Huckabee and John McCain (have you read the list--including Rush Limbaugh's latest statements today) on Iowansforromney.com?). Huckabee's latest wacko mis-statements and publicity stunt fiasco on Monday just reiterates why I'm voting for competence. John McCain is just plain mean, a liberal and a MSM prop since Huckabee is no longer a viable glass house to put up against Hillary.
Have you noticed that Romney's supporters seem to be much more educated and study the issues? Huckabee's supporters (and I used to be one of them before I woke up and really studied the issues!) seem to mainly consist of Christian extremists who blindly vote with emotion and no common sense? That is so scary!! While Huckabee is crossing picket lines to yuck it up on Leno last night (again--no substance, just lots of jokes and guitar playing), all the other candidates are out explaining and clarifying substantive positions and matters of importance to our country.
O.K…….let’s compare candidates....An evangelical pastor/entertainer (Huckabee) vs. an experienced, supremely intelligent presidential candidate (Romney). We are voting for a president to represent and run the most powerful country in the world. The future of America and the direction it is headed is an extremely important and serious matter. I want the best, most qualified person leading us, not a clownish amateur that doesn't have a clue.
Go Mitt!

Noticeable lacking from your post is a single reason why Huck's a good candidate. You got one? |
|
Sure -
He's fiscally responsible and improved education and infrastructure in Arkansas while Governor.
His Immigration Policy includes closing the border FIRST
He recognizes that if we are going to retain our sovereignty as a nation we have to get a handle on how we process immigrants.
Oops! That's five....
|
|
And...
Huckabee doesn't run from his positions or statements. When confronted with something he has a ready answer that (in most cases) seems genuine.
I can't say this for Romney or Guiliani |
|
Let's compare candidates... A one-term governor that has successfully run businesses and the Olympics through massive planning and consultation who has seemingly changed his position on abortion, gay marriage, and gun control for political expediency that plays fast and loose with his opponents record and has spent over 7 Million Dollars in Iowa resulting in a virtual tie w/ a candidate that spent about $400k.
VS
A two-term governor that cut taxes over 90 times and took Arkansas from the 37th most taxed state to 44th and improved infrastructure (roads) and education while dealing with a Democrat legislature and has a plan to secure our borders and improve immigration and has been consistent in his views on social issues and advocates reducing government spending while pledging not to raise taxes as President and who advocates publicly funded scholarships for the children of illegal aliens that have completed high school in the state (not to be confused with amnesty or open borders) |

One policy where Huckabee doesn't sound like an idiot...
http://www.mikehuckabee.com/?FuseAction=Issues.View&Issue_i d=5
How about fair trade? It's about time that the POTUS quit putting up with the games being played by China as it relates to suppressing their currency to make their products cheap (and in some cases dangerous) |

Rush wants somebody to lead a resurgence in the conservative movement. He wants a Ronald Reagan/ Newt Gingrich type that embraces conservative values socially, fiscally, and militarily that will lead the Republicans in Congress to stand on principle and quit caving in to the Democrats.
Quite frankly, so do I.
The problem is that George Allen and his staff were incapable of defending his silly 'Macaca' statement and let the Dems run wild with it.
The other problem is that the closest thing we have to a viable candidate that is a true conservative is Fred Thompson. But Fred let the big money sign up with other campaigns before he joined the presidential contest.
Rush so desperately wants another Reagan that whenever any type of comparison to Reagan is made, even on a single point, he just loses his mind.
We have to choose the best candidate for this country, he won't be perfect, just the best available.
Too often we do not embrace the good while waiting on the perfect - this is how women become old maids. |
