It would be such a great thing if the other GOP nominees could get this direct about the global war on terror...

“This war ends when they stop coming here to kill us!” Giuliani said in his speech. “Never, ever again will this country ever be on defense waiting for [terrorists] to attack us if I have anything to say about it. And make no mistake, the Democrats want to put us back on defense!”

Giuliani said terrorists “hate us and not because of anything bad we have done; it has nothing to do with Israel and Palestine. They hate us for the freedoms we have and the freedoms we want to share with the world.”

Giuliani continued: “The freedoms we have are in conflict with the perverted, maniacal interpretation of their religion.” He said Americans would fight for “freedom for women, the freedom of elections, freedom of religion and the freedom of our economy.”

Addressing the terrorists directly, Giuliani said: “We are not giving that up, and you are not going to take it from us!”

In saying it so bluntly, and in calling the Democrats out the way he did yesterday, Rudy does make for himself - the absolute best case for why people should vote for him.

I still can't because my great hope is that even though the other GOP candidates are not saying it - I hope and pray that Fred Thompson, Mitt, or McCain would also be as aggressive.

I HOPE that my "hope" is not misplaced!

Giuliani, The Tough Guy
If our former Tough Talking Mayor had been as diligent and indefatigable in rouding up the 9/11 terrorists from Brooklyn's 69th St. Pier, as he was shooing Squeegee Men from our windshields, the WTC would still be standing. Mohammed Atta, the pilot of the first plane, used to live a block from me on Ridge Boulevard, Brooklyn. He and his cronies used to gather at the 69th St. Pier, (which has a panoramic view of NY Harbor and Manhattan) studying and photographing the skyline around the WTC.

Atta was a familiar figure at Lowen's drugstore, corner of 69th & 3rd Avenue. Ira Siegel, the pharmacist, said he was v. polite, holding the door open for old ladies. He seemed like a regular American, except for the "dead" look in his strange Sankpanyu (sp?) eyes. The airline clerk who collected Atta's ticket on his final plane trip, also remembered those strange "dead" eyes.

Yes, long after the horse is stolen, America's Mayor, is all too eager to lock the barn door.
Giuliani for President? God Help America. He'll do for America what he did for New York.
Among the victims of his big-hearted "Don't Bother the Immigrants" policy was my neighbor's daughter, the Jensen girl. Her fiance was among those who jumped from the flames of the WTC; and left her inconsolable. Soon after, she jumped from the window of a high-rise apartment in Manhattan and joined him in a similar death.

But N.Y. Mayors evidently do not or refuse to learn. Bloomberg does Giuliani one better. His immigrant-policy orders to the N.Y. Police are "Lean Over Backward for the Muslims".

And have you heard the latest? Soon, Brooklyn will have a "genuine Beduoin Arab" Madrassa school - multicultural, of course, to teach Islamic culture, etc... . Pressure for Muslim parents brings an Oregan Islamic Academy...

Islam, we are told, is a "collective psychosis" (The Sword of Islam). A plague of schizophrenia is spreading across America. So why bother to spend billions and sacrifice thousands of American lives "over there" to fight the terrorists when we give them every freedom to set up shop - Madrassa training camps - among us here, wherever pressure from Muslim parents prevails.
Considering the obligatory fecundity of the Muslim Mamas who are having twins when American women are having abortions, Islamic schools will soon dominate what is euphemistically called American Education and, of course, our Democracy which an imam informs us "is in the essence of Islam".
In short, we need not send any "surge" to Iraq, what we must start doing is deporting as many Muslims as possible and stop their freedom to settle and dominate among us.
Remember the leaders of CAIR, said, "Islam is a political ideology. Muslims don't come to assimilate, we come to dominate".

We did not let Hitler set up Nazi schools around America - why this fearful carte blanche to the Muslims? Is America the Beautiful so cheaply and treasonously for sale to Petrol dollars, or should one say Euros?

Too bad....
Rudy is great. He is one of the few GOPers I'd gladly vote for, and one of the few who could beat Hillary and/or Obama.

But, he'll never get the nomination. The fringe right wing of the GOP will never support him.

I love bluntness...
stating the obvious in clear, simple, and slightly incredulous terms is the best approach to discussing this with the "Blame America First" crowd. They will never face reality if we are too placating and "nice". I am not yet a Guiliani fan, (yet) but bluntness and clarity on the war certainly impresses me.
