I have not posted here since Christmas Day 2006. Sorry for the absence, but I needed to spend some precious time with family before the muckity muck of 2007 starts to take chunks of my flesh.
Part of the reason that I feel so compelled to stop broadcasting, blogging, etc. for even a brief season is in the examination of some of our most recent events. With the passing of President Ford, James Brown, and Saddam Hussein, one should be asking the question, "Is what I am after in this life - the right thing?"
For me it is good to take time away, clear my head, and refocus.
I was also given pause to think when speaking with some of the folks I did talk to - over the holiday break. My recent discussion with a newly appointed Naval Officer, and newly commissioned Squad Leader Marine was something that moved be greatly.
Today on the broadcast I will do something I do once every year - usually the first broadcast of the year. I will ask listeners to grade the show, and give feedback on what they would like to see more or less of. Not many talk show hosts can handle that kind of close scrutiny for much of any length - that's why I only do it for one day. But each year I have - I have learned a bit more about the personality of the MuscleHead Revolution.
As for Resolutions - I don't much believe in them. Commitments, yes, goals - absolutely - but not resolutions.
One of 2007 commitments will be to expand the technical capacities of the show. Very shortly we hope to have the PodCAST and Video Punch Commentaries available on ITunes so that you can subscribe and get them sent to you regularly.
We also will be revamping the newsletter... and in very short order I need to complete the writing of my second book.
All this to say, it feels good to be back, and I can't wait to see what happens in 2007. Thanks for giving me the chance to do it - with you!
