Though the Mayor is promising a full and thorough investigation in the New York City shooting case in which a groom was shot to death (over 50 rounds emptied) while leaving his "bachelor party" at 4am in Queens.
Even though the Mayor is promising such an investigation that's not stopping Rev. Al from hopping on the "put me on camera" bandwagon... Stirring the pot and jumping the gun, Rev. Al has been holding daily rallies attempting to make himself look like the important player he wants to be in this story.
But according to eyewitnesses, there is much already known about the events that took the life of Sean Bell on the early morning of his wedding. From this information, I am attempting to help other would-be grooms as to how to keep from getting shot on their day of bliss.
1. DON'T choose to have your bachelor party at a skanky strip-club in Queens.
2. DON'T have your buddies pick a fight with Mr. Heavy who is already packing heat.
3. DON'T force the local streetwalker to choose how many of you and your homies she will have "to do", thus causing part of the ruckus.
4. DON'T decide to have your buddies get your gun out of your car.
5. DON'T ignore police officer's direct instructions.
6. DON'T ram your car into the officer's leg, and try to kill him - thus making your car a deadly weapon.
7. DON'T try to run over the officer a second time - thus again making your car a deadly weapon.
8. DON'T try to drive away recklessly when MORE police officers show up.
9. DON'T let your buddy hop out of the car - with your gun.
10. DON'T SPEND THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR WEDDING TRYING TO BED A PROSTITUTE FROM A SKANKY STRIP CLUB IN QUEENS!!!!!!
Is it just me or is this harder than it seems?
I have been an faithful fan, when you came to New York, until today...I was so angry when I heard you state " I am the parent of an AFRICAN Amercian". It is the most RACIST statement you could have made. It is the exactly the same as saying "my best friend is black". The OLD Justicfication By ASSOCIATION stupidy.
Association does not qualify an individual of another race the right to speak as if they are of the race in question. It is the greatest insult to any race, culture or gender. Please understand YOU ARE NOT BLACK...you will NEVER be Black...and most of all you will never know what it is to feel the pain of being Black in America, NEVER! Can you help yes, can you expose the nonsense of the AL Sharpton's of this world? Yes! Should you cry loud and spare not? Definitely. But raising a young black child DOES NOT automatically give you carte blanche to understand the plight of BLACK AMERICANS or MAKE YOU THE VOICE for BLACK AMERICA. |

This smells of setting us back as Americans. This smells of Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. This smells of Rodney King.
Though I will never claim to understand the plight of Black America, I do understand humanity. Fact is, in this society, it is possible for humans who have human feelings and human reactions to over-react. Did the police over-react? Perhaps. Did the victim put himself in such a position? Definitely. Were the police justified to drop 50 slugs into this man? I don't know, I wasn't there.
Mama always said if you want to stay out of trouble don't put yourself in a position to get into trouble in the first place.
This should not be a racial issue. But it smells like this will be a huge racial issue, and set us back decades.
I hope not, I am only speculating. |

KMC does an excellent job of pointing out two facts: (1) we all need to take more responsibility for our behavior; (2) there needs to be a full investigation into this tragedy.
He fails miserably, however, in trying to link the two.
Whether Mr. Bell was coming out of a strip club or if he was coming out of Sunday School is not the point.
As usual, KMC gets off to a great start and then he breaks off into his predictable right wing tangent. |

I'm not sure how I would react if I were a cop getting run over for the second time by a hungover drunken idiot with a gun and his homies. Really? Who are these eyewitnesses? I have not heard about this on the news, just the "50 rounds" part.
Hey Douglass V. Gibbs, you know that Sharpton and Jackson probably couldn't care less about "setting us back". I mean, this is great for their careers as the official "spokesmen" right? Probably. |
