ON THE BALDWIN/McCULLOUGH MegaCast: 1. The debate this week over who should get credit and who shouldn't in terms of which President--was silly. But the question that stands is, if President Obama--who I am more than willing to give credit for the kill--was successful because we poured a bit of water down three captives noses, shouldn't he go ahead and let Eric Holder know that he's not interested in pursuing prosecutions against the CIA agents that gave him this win? We really thought the picture issue was done as of yesterday. Leon Panetta had said a picture would likely be coming forward. Evidently the President had a different idea, and will tell the nation on Sunday night that the picture should not be released in order for it not to turn into propaganda. But after coming into power, President Obama pledged to make public some 2000 other pictures that would easily be able to be used for just such purposes. What would you do, say, react to if you found out the city you lived in was 47% illiterate? Today a major city in the United States IS and there is much discussion about how to solve the problem. Leon Panetta says a photo or video is on its way, but does the fact that we haven't seen one yet bother you? Should it? Also the debate over enhanced interrogation goes on. Yesterday I was one of the first to point out that most of the evidence that led the current administration to the courier to be observing was obtained on Bush's watch, using techniques that the current President campaigned against. One of the most important detainees was captured because of our engagement in Iraq. SO... the Iraq portion of the war on terror, was crucial to the outcome of catching bin Ladin all along. President Bush has politely declined an invitation from President Obama to attend his very public paying of respects at Ground Zero tomorrow in New York. Speculation is one thing.
